Benefits of Canine Massage

Canine Massage Much like massage for humans, Canine massage reduces stress, aids in healing, relaxes and softens injured, tired and overused muscles, improves circulation, can increase joint flexibility, lessens depression and anxiety, and provides ongoing health care for your pet. Canine massage is more than petting or a tummy rub. It is focused on various massage techniques – each stroke is controlled in pressure, direction and intention. All dogs can benefit from massage, including dogs who spend long periods indoors and older dogs who suffer from muscular cramps, stiffness, arthritis and some skin conditions. Always remember, massage is a complement to, not a substitute for, your pet’s veterinary care.

GREAT Wish List

Dear Santa,

We’ve met lots of good little Golden boys and girls this year. We’ve also made many new GREAT friends who have helped us to find happy homes for many pups who will now have a warm and safe holiday. Here are some things that we could really use to help us continue to find forever homes for our furry friends:

  • Large collapsible crates, collars & leashes
  • Current medication for flea & heart worm prevention (for large dogs)
  • Printing services and paper for GREAT’s promotional flyers and posters

Oh! And Santa, please don’t forget we always need people to help us by contributing their time and talents. Here are just some of the ways people can help:

  • Volunteer to help at GREAT events
  • Foster a dog waiting for adoption
  • Become a GREAT board member
  • Become GREAT’s foster coordinator – a very important part of the rescue process that finds loving, temporary homes for newly rescued dogs waiting for adoption
  • Transport newly rescued dogs from shelters to vet appointments and foster homes

There are so many ways to support our rescue efforts. Please visit to view our wish list and check out all of our volunteer opportunities.

Another GREAT way to help is through your employer’s Matching Gift program. GREAT is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit organization and can benefit from this program. Documentation will be provided upon request.

We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

Thank you, Santa!
