Retirement Homes Needed
These seniors are in need of a forever home. If you can open up your heart and home to one of these sweet sugar-faced pups, please fill out an application and indicate the senior that you are interested in adopting.
Meet Jenny G.
Jenny G loves the water so it would be nice if her new family has a pool or goes to the beach. It would also be nice if there was another dog for a companion since she is accustomed to having her sister, Phina, with her all of the time. She loves being with people, enjoys sunning herself especially after a swim and has very good house manners. Her AKC papers indicate that she will be 11 on January 7th.
Phina enjoys going to the beach. She loves to have fun running, playing and chasing a ball with other dogs. Although eleven years old, she sure doesn’t look or act like it. She has a beautiful darker golden coat with lots of feathers and is a very docile girl, very nice in the house and even enjoys riding in the car.
Chance was adopted from GREAT in 2006 but was recently surrendered due to the owner’s death. He is very handsome, sweet, gentle, and in good condition. His foster says he is getting along with the other dogs and eating well, and that he sure does not act like he is 9 years old! He is full of energy and playful.
Harley Jane is one sweet girl and we just wonder how her former owner can sleep at night knowing that she dumped this gentle 12 yr. old Golden Girl in a rural area and left her to fend for herself. Sweet Harley Jane has begun her new life in a wonderful foster home where she is enjoying the love and attention of a family of four including two children. She loves it all and is soaking up the affection and repaying them with being on her best behavior. She is a good girl, loves her ball as you can see and doesn’t cause any problems, inside or out. She is a lovely looking girl with a beautiful shiny, long and thick coat, and is current on all vaccinations, spayed, heart worm negative, wormed, and micro-chipped.
Teddy is a 12 year old who had lived with his Mom and Dad ever since he was a little puppy. Then one day they sold their house as they were quite elderly and needed to move someplace that didn’t require as much work, so they dropped him at a shelter. Due to Teddy being a “senior”, the shelter was going to euthanize him as he was not considered “adoptable” at 12 years of age so GREAT came to his rescue. Teddy’s family had taken good care of him and he is heart worm negative, neutered, current on all vaccinations and wormed. Teddy would do well with a family that is older without a lot of noise. He loves being outside, and really enjoys seeing and doing new things. He also loves being loved – petted and scratched especially on his chest and ears. Teddy is like a “teddy bear”, won’t cause any trouble but will be very happy if a loving family can take him home and let him live out his Golden years.
MoMo is a 12 year old rescued from an outlying shelter. This precious girl has hair loss on her butt and tail, infected eyes, perhaps some sight loss, and a thyroid condition. Although scared when taken from the shelter, she is now settling in her foster home where she gets along great with both the female and male goldens there. She underwent treatment for her skin condition and thyroid, and is now available for adoption.
Toby is an 11 year old owner surrender. Due to financial hardship and forced to move, his loving family could no longer keep him. They were very grateful that we could take him in and get medical care for a skin infection which caused hair loss. Toby is doing beautifully in a foster home with 2 other dogs and 5 kids. His fur is looking much better and there is now “peach fuzz” growing back where he had lost his fur.
George’s family had to make the difficult decision of surrendering George due to their loss of jobs and home. They had taken great care of George and loved him very much. George is a well behaved 11 yr old male Golden Retriever who is heart worm negative, wormed, neutered and in over all good health. He’s a little slower because of his age but loves going for walks and riding in the car. He is available for immediate adoption.
Lucky’s elderly owner fell, broke his arm and was no longer able to care for him and had no one to help with Lucky so reluctantly he surrendered Lucky. Lucky is 9 years old, has all of his vaccinations, neutered and is undergoing heart worm treatment. He is available for immediate adoption to a gentle, loving family who will give this sweet boy all the good care and loving he deserves.
